UNOG Gender Policy Update

Background

UNOG adopted its first Gender Policy in 2016, serving as a model for other entities. It gave UNOG's leadership a framework for accountability and helped create a working environment where women feel more empowered. However, many global and internal developments have taken place since then and the policy needs to be updated to continue leading the way and helping UNOG tackle today's challenges.

Scope

The current Gender Policy urgently requires an update to align with the UN System-Wide Action Plan on Gender Equality (UN-SWAP 3.0) and the UN Gender Equality Action Plan. The revised version would also address gaps identified in recent staff consultations.

Impact

Ensuring UNOG is well equipped to face any setback in terms of gender parity.

Enhancing the capacity of UNOG’s leadership in promoting a gender-sensitive working environment.
